Can you tell I had a recent audition for Fiddler? "A little bit of this, a little bit of that" is the opening line of Anatevka, my favorite song from Fiddler. I'm like Pavlov's dog. Everytime I hear that song, I start to cry. People having to decide what to take with them as they leave their lifelong homes. It's...I can't...such a truly human moment.
Speaking of human moments on the stage, Champion (currently being performed at the Met in NYC) is filled with humanity, music, words, dance, singing, oh my, it is FANTASTIC. Run, my friends, RUN to see this opera. I don't care if you don't like opera. Go.
Lots of auditions lately, for which I'm very grateful. I've had a blast hanging out with friends, making new friends (made one yesterday), meeting some really kind people and most importantly, creating little moments of stories with my voice and body. I think of auditioning like the lottery - one of these days I'm going to hit. You'll be the first to know when I do!
Thanks for reading. I'm heading out on an adventure with Richard this week. Pretty sure I'll have some interesting items for you next month.
